Cobb County has had an excellent bond rating (AAA) for 20+ years. However, the County was facing a budget gap of $30M – $55M while receiving a record amount of taxes in recent years. Additionally, our County is facing unprecedented demand for public services. We need to independently review the tax basis and budget with an eye toward meeting citizen demands for services and sustainable infrastructure while balancing prudent financial stewardship.

The decision to reopen Georgia without access to widespread testing is dangerous. Several counties in south Georgia still have infection rates among the highest in the country.
