ABOUT HUNT

Jonathan Hunt is the son of Rev. Harvey L. Hunt and Ms. Thelma Hill Hunt. Jonathan and his wife, Ashanti Trent Hunt, have lived in Cobb County for over 14 years with their son.  His family so loved Cobb County that they relocated his parents and his in-laws to District 4 over a decade ago. His parents modeled the values and virtues of servant leadership that has inspired Jonathan throughout his life. While our county has experienced tremendous growth, Jonathan believes we need to more aggressively plan for future growth and invest in sustainable and enriched infrastructure that allows its residences to live, work, play and age gracefully in place.

Jonathan attended Hampton University and matriculated with Bachelor of Science Degree in Building Construction Management & Technology. While at Hampton, Jonathan was a member of the Hampton University Football Team.  Jonathan received numerous awards and recognitions while at Hampton, including, being a member of the Coca-Cola Academic All-American, All-Conference and All-District Academic and Athletic Teams. Most importantly, Hampton University instilled Jonathan with the values that one must carry out one’s work with integrity, respect, dignity and responsibility.  Jonathan will bring each of these values with him as he serves District 4.

Jonathan earned his Juris Doctor degree and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Case Western Reserve University Schools of Law and Management. While at Case Western, Jonathan was named the first Baker & Hostetler Paul D. White Scholar and was the recipient of the Case Western Martin Luther King, Jr. Award.
